"It's time for the Miller Lite Call of The Week, where I either praise a call that I loved or defend a call thought to be previously indefensible. Look, I don't know if Braylon Edwards' electric performance on Monday night was just a tease and he'll end up frustrating Jets fans the same way he frustrated Browns fans.
Still, you have to hand it to him for getting out of Cleveland at all. The Browns have had one winning season all decade. They have the worst quarterbacks and the least likable coach in the league. Their fans despised Edwards. And if that wasn't bad enough, he lived in Cleveland, a city that recently inspired this video. Simply by being surly to co-workers, dropping passes and feuding with friends of the city's biggest star (LeBron James), Edwards managed to force a trade to the Jets.
What happened? Within a week, Braylon hooked himself to the Juvenation Machine on an up-and-coming Jets team. He's blessed with a terrific young quarterback and one of the league's best new coaches. He gets to live near the biggest city in America. He might play in the playoffs and maybe even a Super Bowl. Um ... what was the downside here? Braylon Edwards, don't let anyone tell you differently. You played the Browns like the cello. You're a genius. That's my great call of the week."
